Self-Identity Branding
In creating a self identity, it is confusing to know where to start. Tasked with creating my own personal brand, this project was very insightful by forcing me to look in myself as a designer and see how that translates into a brand.
WHERE TO START
I knew that I really wanted my logo to be simple, clean, but still fun as I think that is what
my work reflects. This lead to an exploration of letter marks, word marks, and pictorial marks that incorporates my name or initials into them. From here, I narrowed it down to eight that were refined.
FINDING A DIRECTION
REFINED SKETCHES
After much trial and error, I was able to land on a few logos I was very satisfied with. Most lend themselves to
a more fun take on a corporate-style letter mark. With this in mind, to soften up the logo I needed to incorporate warm, earthy colors to solidify myself as the kind of designer that can be serious about the work but have fun doing it.
TYPOGRAPHY
COLOR
The final logo is a combination of all things that encapsulate me as a designer. The use of color, the geometric shape, and a sophisticated yet youthful feeling to the design. The incorporation of my initials T, A, and M makes this design very unique to me, leaving me with a brand identity that represents me perfectly.
